Friday - Temple Day

Both heat and humidity have been increasing all week - regardless, we set out for the temple of the Golden Buddha.  Interesting back story on hiding and finding him.

At one of the smaller temples, we saw a Buddhist monk giving blessings.  He had a tied up bunch of leaves; he dipped in water and shook it over the head of the supplicant as each one bowed.  He then tied a string around their wrists.  Once again, would have been great to video.
After touring around the temple, we walked to Chinatown - nice lunch in great AC - then strolled on the shady side of the street to peep in the various shops.  Found a Chinese pharmacy where Loren bought one of his favorite medicines, and Isabel got tiger balm.
Then kept walking to the start of the Indian section of the city - hit a random mall, full of toys and electronics.
We then tried to get to Grand Palace, but it closed just as we arrived at 4 pm.  These are some exterior shots and the charming pink elephant statues in the roundabout by the palace.

And once again, my lower back hurt too much to go out again - frustrating for me, though Loren and Isabel are super helpful and kind.
They went out again, while I had early night.
