Sunday

Our last day in Bangkok - brunch at the hotel, then a visit to the Jim Thompson House.
Koi in pond

Note the approx. 1 foot high threshold leading into the room.  According to our guide, these have 2 purposes - to keep out evil spirits and to keep babies from entering.

Silkworm cocoons - the Thai ones are yellow, giving Thai silk its characteristic slug weave

Dyed silk thread

Spun silk - ready to weave

We couldn't take pictures in the house, but it was lovely -  all made of teak and more in the western style, with joined rooms, rather than Thai style with each room being its own building.

Back to hotel for quick family picture - before Isabel headed to airport for overnight flight back to Korea.

The orange orchids behind us are lovely - here's a closeup
