Travel and Day 1 in Bangkok

Highly recommend traveling on Korean Air if you ever have a chance - very nice cabin crew, and they even serve Raymond's beer

Eleven hours from San Francisco to Seoul - very tolerable as we had empty seat between us.  I dozed and Loren watched every movie he could.  Quick change of planes - interestingly, we had to re-clear security- then another 6 hours to Bangkok.
We are staying upscale at the Oriental Residence and it's a great respite from the heat and congestion. We are on "Embassy Row" and can see the US Embassy from our suite.  Here's Loren lounging in the living room this morning.

To acclimate and get some exercise, we went to exchange money and then to Lumpini Park.
Walked just shy of 5 miles, and enjoyed the calm of park.

Egret just strolling

Swan boats, reminiscent of Boston
Then back to hotel to relax at the pool bar - fresh coconut water for me and mojito for Loren

On the balcony below the monitor, you can see the hotel herb garden.

Ended the day with delicious crab curry and mojitos - early night.
